Biography

Specialist Area: J.E. Cairnes School of Business & Economics – placement activities

Primarily responsible for the placement of students from

Bachelor of Commerce (Global Experience)

Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting)

B.Sc. Business Information Systems

Background: Prior to joining the Career Development Centre in 2013 Breda has 15 years’ experience in Human Resource Management and Recruitment across a variety of sectors including ICT, Engineering and Medical Devices.

Breda joined the Career Development Centre in NUI Galway in 2013 covering areas such as Employment Officer and Placement Officer for the College of Engineering & Informatics and the College of Science. She has worked in the work placement area for the last year and is very experienced in recruiting students for work placement and employer engagement.

In her current role Breda has responsibility for providing support and organising placement opportunities for students from undergraduate courses of the J.E. Cairnes School of Business & Economics.

Her work includes preparing students for placement, increasing employer engagement, maintaining existing company relationships and creating new ones. Breda also provides 15 minute CV/application advice sessions for students.

Hobbies and Interests: Breda enjoys travelling and exercise
